Eggplant 'Ethiopian', also known as "Nakati", is a perennial bush to 90cm, usually grown as an annual in western Sydney. The small green fruit mature to red and become more bitter as they age. The fruit is best eaten green after soaking in salt water before cooking. Sometimes referred to as 'tree pumpkins'. Can be used as an ornamental in flower arranging.
