Emu Berry is an Australian native "bush tucker" deciduous shrub, growing to 3 metres (usually around 1.5 metres). The roots and stem are ground, then used medicinally. The leaves are used for tea. The thin layer of fruit around a hard seed is said to taste like "apple struedel". Hardy, drought tolerant plant. Can be grown in part-shade.
