Moringa is a fast-growing deciduous tree, up to 12 metres; it has a deep tap root so can reach water and nutrients deep in the ground. The crown of the tree is drooping and open. Leaves are light and "feathery". Immature seed pods are edible (hence a common name is "drumstick tree). Oil can be pressed from seeds, flowers and roots.
