Quinoa is an annual plant, 1-2m tall. Deep taproot. Broad hairy leaves, woody stem. Flowers have no petals. One seed per fruit. Start in a saucer 4-6 hours in water, 15°-24°C, just covering seed. Germination may occur within hours. When seedlings are 5mm long, transfer to seed raising mix. Cover sparsely with soil. Put in sunny position to grow.
